Create a bathroom oasis

I share my bathroom with four boys who are 3, 5, 6 and 7 years old. Believe me, it's not always easy to feel like it's my bathroom. I've had to get creative to keep it as an oasis for myself.

There are three things I make sure I do in my bathroom to make it my personal space (and try to forget that I share it with four little guys).

Beautiful blooms

First, I always have flowers or a beautiful plant behind the toilet. It's lovely and always makes me smile as soon as I enter my bathroom. I love having gorgeous flowers in there -- not only do they look fabulous, they smell wonderful.

Personal space

Second, I always lay out my beauty "goodies" as if it's my own personal beauty counter. I have my makeup, I have my lotions, I have my perfume, I have my hair gels and sprays. In short, I have everything right at my fingertips.

I have a system: my stuff on the left and my sons' stuff on the right. We don't cross lines (or I'll toss out toys!). It's easy for me because all of my stuff is so girly, and my sons are just not into it. It's nice to have my own little slice of "femininity" in my world of blue.

Fresh fragrance

Third, I always spray some delicious fragrance in the air! My bathroom doesn't always smell great, so I rely on a little help from some perfumed scents to get me there. I love smelling a fresh, clean bathroom!
