Jennifer Garner and her husband Ben Affleck have three children, 6-year-old Violet, 3-year-old Seraphina, and 3-month-old Samuel.
Why we love her
Garner, 40, first caught our eye in 2001 as the kick-butt CIA agent Sydney Bristow in the ABC show Alias. She then moved on to hit movies, including Catch Me if You Can, Daredevil, 13 Going on 30 and Juno, sealing her place as a Hollywood superstar.
She married Affleck in 2005 and the couple wasted no time starting their family. Garner obviously loves being a mom, as she is frequently spotted taking her kids to the park, to ballet lessons and she is always the one doing school drop-off and pick-up. No full-time nannies for her! She loves spending quality time with her kids, including taking them to the fun art studio Color Me Mine in Los Angeles, as well as to the library and even riding go-carts!
Garner wants her children to have the wholesome childhood she had growing up in West Virginia. In fact, Garner let Violet set up a lemonade stand outside her Brentwood home. How cute is that? Her kids are always dressed cute -- and totally age appropriate! You won't find Violet wearing high heels or lipstick!
She and Affleck love taking their children to the farmers market on the weekends, and the couple are even spotted stealing a quick kiss as well as holding hands during a kids-free date night.
Her mom style
Garner keeps her look casual when she is with the kids -- which mean she loves wearing jeans and a casual top paired with sandals or tennis shoes. When she was pregnant, she wore bump-hugging tops paired with maternity jeans and boots. Post-baby, she wore flowy tops and layered scarves to flatter her new mom-figure.
She also looks great in belted dresses paired with feminine cardigans and sandals when she is running errands around town. On the red carpet, she can look glamorous and gorgeous in designer gowns that show off her killer bod. But overall her style is classic, laid-back and chic.
Our favorite Jennifer quotes
- On being a working mom: "It's a lot of juggling... but it's worth the effort. It's great for kids to see their moms having many roles in the world. I have and they have a really broad idea of what women can accomplish and do in a day. That's really important to me."
- On making her marriage work with kids: "You steal the time. You steal a date, you steal a kiss, you steal a whisper. After the kids are asleep you… well, you know. Whatever it is. You slip away for a night."
- On growing older: "Beauty comes from a life well lived. If you've lived well, your smile lines are in the right places, and your frown lines aren't too bad, what more do you need?"
We were surprised to learn that...
Garner had a conservative upbringing and couldn't wear makeup, wear a bikini or have her ears pierced until she was 16!
What's next for Jennifer?
Garner next stars in The Odd Life of Timothy Green, co-starring Joel Edgerton and Cameron Adams, which is slated to hit theaters August 2012.
