Co-parenting after a breakup can be challenging and downright nasty. According to three celebrity moms, raising children with an ex doesn't have to involve drama and arguments.

Read about how Beverly D'Angelo role-models conflict resolution for her 11-year-old twins with ex Al Pacino -- how Denise Richards strives to keep the peace with ex-husband Charlie Sheen -- and why Shanna Moakler feels lucky to co-parent alongside ex-husband Travis Barker.

Beverly D'Angelo & Al Pacino

Audiences fell in love with Beverly D'Angelo for her role as Chevy Chase's wife, Ellen Griswold, in National Lampoon's Vacation.

At age 49, Beverly welcomed twins Anton and Olivia, now 11, with ex, Academy Award-winning actor, Al Pacino. The mother-of-two opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about co-parenting with grace and love:

"As a co-parent, you have to remember that what you're doing is giving your children an example of conflict resolution, and it's a mighty gift to give to anybody," she said. "In this world, the ability to resolve conflicts in a loving and enlightened way is probably the greatest gift you could ever give to anybody. Not everybody sees things the way you do, and it's important to see the other person's point of view -- to accommodate, to accept a value system that might be different than yours. All that stuff is an example that you're giving your children.

The absolute worst thing you could ever, ever, ever do to your children, is to involve your children with any facet of the personal relationship you may have with your ex. You have to remember that your ex is the person that your children love."

Denise Richards & Charlie Sheen

Actress/author Denise Richards is proud mom to three girls: Sam, 8, Lola, 7 and Eloise, 10 months. While she adopted her youngest daughter as a single parent, Denise shares her eldest daughters with ex-husband, Hollywood bad boy, Charlie Sheen.

"I do see Charlie over the holidays," she told Celebrity Baby Scoop, and added, "He's my family."

Denise said they're "good friends" and try to keep things in perspective.

"I think it's best to stay friendly whether it's the holidays or not," she said. On her best advice for co-parenting, Denise shared, "Keep it about the kids and keep the peace."

Shanna Moakler & Travis Barker

Former Miss USA and Playboy model Shanna Moakler and her ex-husband, Blink-182 rocker Travis Barker, are parents to son Landon, 8 and daughter Alabama, 6. Travis has also continued his relationship with Atiana, Shanna's 13-year-old daughter from a previous relationship with Oscar de la Hoya. Shanna chatted about their peaceful co-parenting situation.

"Travis and I are lucky, we live very close to each other," Shanna said. "So, yes, we try very hard to work with each other per our schedules and co-parent [situation]. We are both very hands on and our children come first. Always have.

Travis is a morning person and loves driving the kids to school. I am a night owl and prefer to take on the bath times and homework, etc.

We split the week. I have them weekdays and he has them on the weekends. I try to work with him and his schedule as much as possible as we don't really have 9 to 5 jobs. Sometimes he is gone for months. Other [times], I am gone for weeks. So we try to accommodate each other as best we can."
