Kate Middleton's style
The Duchess of Cambridge always looks chic, yet sophisticated, in tailored pieces such as belted coats or elegant gowns with feminine details like lace. When she dresses down, she opts for skinny jeans paired with a blazer and flats or riding boots.
Maternity designer Liz Lange suspects Middleton will continue her polished style throughout her pregnancy.
"She's in a perfect position to just continue with her exact same dressing philosophy. She wears things that are fitted, and that should also continue during her pregnancy. Her clothes are tailored beautifully and will show her expanding baby bump in a tasteful way," Lange told USA Today.
"She wears a lot of solid-color dresses, and that will work perfectly for her during her pregnancy. She'll continue to wear beautiful rich colors. Dresses are the easiest way to look elegant while you're pregnant, and Kate wears dresses that can be taken from non-maternity to maternity. Every designer in the world will be happy to create custom looks for her," Lange said.
A pregnant Middleton was pictured here leaving the King Edward VII Hospital with Prince William after being hospitalized for acute morning sickness. She holds a bouquet of flowers over her tummy, however a palace representative said she is less than 12 weeks pregnant so there is probably no baby bump to see quite yet anyway.
Middleton's royal pregnancy fashions
Don't worry, even if you don't have a padded royal budget you can still afford many of these pieces!
This Liz Lange for Target Maternity Tunic Dress ($36) is feminine and elegant and would be a perfect look for the Duchess. She could pair it with leggings and her favorite riding boots or flats and a chic scarf. Seraphine maternity is a London-based line that has a store just 2 minutes from Kensington Palace — so don't be surprised if you see her wearing some of their glamorous looks. We can totally see her wearing this gorgeous Embellished Butterfly Sleeved Gown ($365) from their Luxe line.
When she is dressed down, Kate is often seen wearing her favorite J Brand Skinny jeans — and she doesn't have to change her style now that she is pregnant! She can look just as chic in the J Brand Skinny Leg Maternity Jeans ($180, A Pea in the Pod). You can also copy this look with the Old Navy Maternity Skinny Jeans for only $40!
The Duchess will probably steer away from bump-hugging blouses in favor of feminine flowing tops with an empire waist, such as this Robbi & Nikki Faux Wrap Maternity Blouse ($79, A Pea in the Pod) or this Belted Maternity Tunic ($35, Motherhood Maternity).
This entire maternity look from Isabella Oliver has Kate's name written all over it! The Cozy Belted Maternity Tunic is a splurge at $189, but can be worn long after baby is born. Pair it with leggings or skinny jeans and knee-high boots, such as Kate's pictured favorite brand (Rhumba Espresso Suede priced at $698). You will also love these Chinese Laundry Black Suede Boots with a flat heel for $90 at Piperlime.
