Do you have these five shoes in your closet? Every mom needs them! From a hot pair of heels that remind you that you aren't just a mom all of the time, to a pair of day-to-day flats that will get you from errands to dinner out. Check your closet for these shoe necessities!

1. An everyday flat

Some days, being a mom means: running from work to playdates at the park, grocery shopping, helping in your child's classroom... So you can easily be on your feet all day long. That's why every mom needs a good pair of everyday flats in her closet that she absolutely adores. Keep them simple and easy, making them a good match for any outfit you're wearing -- and, of course, they need to be comfortable! Try the Corso Como Prince in Copper Butterskin ($60), available at OnlineShoes.com.

2. Sneakers that are functional but cute

What's on your calendar today? School field trip to the petting zoo? Long walk with a friend after work? We all have those grubby old sneakers that we wear running or do yard work in, but every mom also needs a great-looking pair of sneakers in her closet for those occasions when you want something functional on your feet, while still holding on to a tiny bit of fashion. Pick a sneaker in a bright, fun pop of color for this pair! Look cute while being comfortable in these New Balance 2012 Minimus ($100) in Berry from Nordstrom.

3. From errands to dinner out, all in one shoe

It's one of those days where daytime errands and schedules quickly merge into evening plans -- and without the chance to head home in between to change clothes. Be sure to keep a pair of transition shoes in your closet that will take you from soccer practice pick-up to drinks with your girlfriends without a hitch! Think of those day-to-evening outfit switches when you shop for this pair. A black shoe is perfect, since it can easily be dressed up for evening. For this shoe, we love the Black Calypso Canvas Wedges ($69) from TOMS.

4. A comfy, cozy indulgence

Raise your hand if by the end of the day, your mama feet are exhausted. We're raising our hands, too! Although this may not be high on your shoe priority list, be sure to add a cozy, comfortable indulgence shoe to your closet -- something you can slip on at the end of a long day that makes your feet forgive you for grocery shopping and volunteering at the school jog-a-thon and spending way too long pushing your toddler on the swings at the park. Think about a glorified slipper, if you will -- a shoe that's lined with something thick and soft. Get comfy in the UGG Dakota ($100) available at Zappos.com.

5. A hot pair of mom's-night-out heels

Last, but certainly not least on this list of shoes that every mom needs in her closet, is a pair of heels that will make your kids' eyes pop out -- as in, "I didn't know my mom owned shoes like that!" Perfect for date nights, mom's-night-out dinners and your upcoming class reunion (that you want to look smashing for!). Shopping for heels is fun and exciting and it can take you out of your shoe comfort zone in the best possible way. Now, don't forget to plan a night to wear them too! Check out the Steve Madden Traisie ($80), shown here in Fuchsia Suede from Piperlime.com.

I have these 5 and then some! But yes, I agree these are the staples! I'd had to had a pair of slip ons/flip flops for easy and for those hot days! I live in them in the summer!
