I admit, I’m as guilty as the next mom in the preschool pickup line of wearing a messy mom ponytail day in and day out! However, every now and then I do try something new. I feel I owe it to myself to actually do my ‘do!

On wet hair: Use a wave spray

I have naturally wavy/curly/weird hair so whether I go straight or curly, it's all about finding the right product to style it.

To tame my hair into natural looking beach waves, the best spray I've found for natural looking waves that are soft to the touch is Garnier Fructis Style Wonder Waves.

Spray the Wonder Waves spray onto wet hair, then dry hair slightly using a diffuser and lifting from the roots. Once hair is damp, you can spray a little additional spray throughout your hair. Then, take sections of your hair and twist them away from your face -- gathering the thin curls into larger curls. Allow your hair to air dry.

If you do this the night before, I recommend twisting hair into a loose bun on top of your head and allowing it to dry overnight. You can also try this step-by-step on how to get beach hair.

Style secret^Try not to touch your hair too much while drying and styling. More touches = more frizz.

Love this, Kristin. I've been so envious of everyone I see with gorgeous beach waves. I'm going to lock myself in the bathroom this weekend and see if I can replicate this. Thanks!
