After the day at the beach, don’t jump into the shower to wash the beach waves and salty air from your hair! Instead work those waves with these five simple post-beach updos.

Headband

Bouffant ponytail with beachy waves

For a sexy ponytail featuring your day-at-the-beach-waves, spritz your hair with hairspray then scrunch and finger comb your hair.

the hair at the crown of your head, then secure your hair in a ponytail. Next comb the hair at your hairline back towards the bouffant until it's smooth (a bit of hair gel or more spray may help here). Secure a cute headband like this gold and turquoise one from Banana Republic, at the spot between the smooth sleek hairline and the bouffant bump, and you're ready to rock and roll.

Messy swept updo

Let your beach waves work for you with a messy swept-up hairstyle. Spray your strands with hairspray, then scrunch with your fingers. Then tease the hair under the middle of the back of your head where the updo will be secured.

Next twist 3-inch sections of hair toward the teased hair and secure it with bobby pins. Repeat with similar size sections until all your hair is swept up into a romantic and loose updo. Finally, pin bang hair back with a small front poof.

Sock bun

If your beach waves turn our more crinkly than curly, do away them with a simple sock bun hairstyle. Brush hair, smooth with smoothing serum and secure into a high ponytail. Then slide a hair donut over the ponytail so it's tight against your scalp. Spread your hair around the donut and tuck the hairs around the bun in one direction, pinning any strays, if needed.

Sexy side chignon

Once again, work those beach waves by spritzing your hair with hairspray and scrunching your hair to set the style. Then create a deep side part and backcomb hair at the roots. Finger comb your hair into a low bun leaving a few strands loose to fall around your face.

Slicked back knot

Brush hair and part it down the center or slightly off center, making two big sections (as if you were going to put your hair in pigtails) and securing each with an elastic band about 2 inches from the ends of your hair. Twist each section inward then wrap them around one another to form a twisted knot. Tuck the ends under and secure them at the nape of your neck with lots of bobby pins. Top this sexy look with a beachy hat like this cloche hat from Old Navy.
